MISSION

Dance has been at the core of human civilization for centuries. Whether it is a celebrated part of a culture, or simply something done for pure enjoyment, there’s a special, one-of-a-kind feeling that one gets from the art of movement.

Our mission at House of Dance is to provide dancers of all levels with more than just dance classes, but a unique environment in which dancers can:

  • Form lifelong connections

  • Embrace their inner artistic voice authentically

  • Have a safe space for freedom, and growth in their artistry

 

Our highly trained and skilled instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing various styles. We welcome people of any gender identity or expression, race, ethnicity, size, nationality, sexual orientation, and ability level. All ages are welcome, anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a form filled out and signed by their parental guardian.

Hip-Hop Choreography

This class consists of fast-paced and energetic choreography using the latest street/urban dance moves set to hip hop music. This class is inspired by a wide range of street styles including breaking, locking and popping.

Choreo

Choreo represents a wide variety of dance styles, including modern, jazz, hip-hop, breakdancing, and more. The choreography for commercial dance is typically used for concerts, music videos, television shows, and movies!

Heels

Heels is a style of dance that combines elements of hip hop, contemporary, and jazz dance which is danced in high heels. Think of dances done in music videos with artists like Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, or Jennifer Lopez. In this class you will learn to dance to popular music, have fun, feel sexy and empowered.

*Heels required, optional upon request*

Vogue

It is known for the five elements : Hand/Arm Performance, Catwalk, Duckwalk, Spins & Dips and Floor Performance. Named after the famous fashion magazine, vogue took from the poses in high fashion and ancient Egyptian art, adding exaggerated hand gestures to tell a story and imitate various gender performances in categorized drag genres.

Twerking

If you want to twerk it, pop it, drop it and shake it, this is the class for you! Twerking, if you’re not familiar, is a style of dance that involves, “throwing or thrusting their hips back or shaking their buttocks, often in a low squatting stance.”  In this class you will learn the basics of twerking, and choreography in a fun high energy environment!

Magic Mike-inspired choreography

Magic Mike is a famous American movie which is about the performance of Male strippers. The dance is including many foundations of dance skills such as Hip-hop and Popping, also training your performance skill to impress and pleasure your audiences. We'll be learning choreography inspired by the first Magic Mike movie. Dancers of all levels and genders are encouraged to participate in this light-hearted, sexy class!

Jazz Funk, Heels

Gina Liguori

Gina is a Seattle based dancer, instructor, and personal trainer. Gina grew up practicing ballet for over a decade at Dance West Seattle and later introduced other styles into her practice including Sensual Dance, heels, Commercial Dance, Hip Hop, and Jazz Funk.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in dance from the University of Washington (UW) and became a Certified Personal trainer through NASM in 2022. 

Gina's main goal is to inspire others to embrace their inner artistry and find empowerment through movement and mindset!

Kaitlyn Pitts

Kaitlyn Pitts has been a part of the dance community in Seattle since she was nine years old. She trained in hip-hop and street style dance forms as well as jazz funk mainly at KreativMndz Dance Complex. In college she then ventured into pole dancing, vertical dance, heels, and contemporary. Kaitlyn has also choreographed for many shows in the Seattle area including SoulOut Showcase, No Flex Zone and many more Friday Night Hip-Hop events! She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in dance from the University of Washington (UW)

Hadi Yusri

Hadi Yusri is a movement artist and community activist, from Malaysia, and has performed in the work of Rachael Lincoln, Alia Swersky, and Hannah Rice in multiple UW dance concerts. Had has immersed himself in the study of vogue, contemporary, ballet, and street-style dances. Hadi is also a screen dancer, mainly for hip-hop and contemporary dance pieces. As a student at UW, he is a graduating senior, studying different areas of knowledge including Dance, Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies, Mathematics, and Statistics.
